Product description
The Ponsots ‘love wine because it is alive’ and apply biodynamic practices in the vineyard and age their wines in oak barrels which are at least 10 years old. Their Burgundies do require time to be appreciated but when they reach maturity, they are powerful yet elegant wine with great complexity.
Lying on the lowest and most shallow slopes of the grand cru area, close to the border with Morey-Saint-Denis, Charmes Chambertain produces softer reds than other Grand Cru in Gevrey.

Crackling fruit. Although the vines responsible for this wine are from the same selection planted at the same time as those responsible for the Griottes tasted immediately beforehand, this wine seems softer and fruitier. Quite charming and easy - gives the impression of wearing red velvet robes and cracking a wicked joke or two. 18/20
