Château Beychevelle is well known for producing wines that are generous, deep and well-balanced with a silky texture. The iconic label comes from its ownership by the Duc d’Eperon who was the Admiral of France in the 16th century.
Excellent vintage 2000 is intense and deep on the nose with aromas of black berries and roasted coffee. Good acidity and smooth texture, complexity and great length.
If any wine could be described as beautiful, then Beychevelle is beautiful. Its flavors of liquorice and blackcurrant are smooth and opulent, well proportioned. The texture is rich, ripe and generous.- 92 pts The Wine Enthusiast
