Product description
Ch. Caronne Ste Gemme is only a short walk from Ch. Gruaud-Larose in Saint-Julien and lies on a deep layer of gravels. This warm soil is particularly well-suited for Cabernet Sauvignon, allowing it to achieve optimum ripeness and resulting in wines with great depth and silky tannins.
Aged for 12 months and made in classic 225l French barrels of which 25% are renewed each year. Dark cherry and menthol flavours with attractive undergrowth aromas. Medium bodied with dry tannin, the vintage starts showing very well.
Awards
Deep cherry red. Sweet and spicy on the nose. Silky and fresh on the palate. Straightforward, very drinkable and should be approachable early on. 15.5/20 points
