A superb parcel of affordable, classified St Estèphe from the mighty 2010 vintage. Merlot dominated and drinking now, this will also age gracefully over the next decade.
This 25ha Cru Bourgeois has been owned by the Estager family since 1902. After hand-harvesting and traditional fermentation, the blend is assembled: 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, then aged for 18 months in oak barrels (20% new).
“Nicely concentrated blackberry and blackcurrant nose, some florality and a touch of leather, very good depth of fruit and the tannins are absorbed by the richness of the fruit, very good depth, firm flavours and a very good future.” – 91pts Steven Spurrier, Decanter Magazine
French red wine from Saint Estephe, Bordeaux France, made with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
