Product description
This outstanding Côtes de Bordaux is renowned for producing rich wines. Named ‘l’aiguille’ meaning ‘peak’due to its location on the peak of some hills overlooking the Dordogne.
Aged for 15 months in oak barrels (50% new). Expressive nose with rich and ripe blackberry and cassis aromas alongside coffee bean and dark chocolate notes. Full bodied with firm, yet well integrated tannins, a good acidity and a spicy finish.
Unquestionably a sleeper of the vintage, the opaque plum/ruby/purple-tinged 2008 d’Aiguilhe reveals abundant notes of licorice, fruitcake, black currants and kirsch, sweet tannin, a round, generous texture and impressive purity as well as length. It should be enjoyed over the next 6-8 years
