    This second Cru Classé produces one of St-Julien’s most full-bodied and long-lived wines. Usually rich with plum and blackcurrant fruits and, soft tannins on the finish.

    Aromas of blackberry, toasted oak, sweet tobacco and espresso. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, fruity finish. I like the texture. Best after 2010.” – 92 pts Wine Spectator, March 2006

    About the producer: Château Gruaud Larose

    Château Gruaud Larose is a 2ème Cru Classé located in Saint Julien. It took its name in the mid-18th century after Chevalier de Gruaud and Chevalier de La Rose. After successive ownership including négociants Cordier who also owned Château Talbot at the time, it is today in the hand of  the Taillan Group, owners of many estate including Chasse-Spleen and Haut-Bages-Libéral.     Vineyard & Winemaking

    Today the 82 hectares of vine are 46 years old on average and are planted with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. This is one of the largest vineyards in Bordeaux in one single block. Wines are usually aged in oak barrels (30% new) for 18 months.

    Château Gruaud Larose (grand vin) with only 18 000 cases produced per year on average and Sarget de Gruaud Larose (second wine).

    Returns

    Sale or return is available. All goods returned must be in a reasonable condition and only unopened cases will be accepted. A minimum collection charge of £7.95 will be applied to all sale or return orders.

    Any damaged bottles must be reported within 48 hours of delivery. A full refund will be given on receipt of the damaged bottles.

    Orders may be cancelled up to seven working days from receipt of delivery provided that all wines are unopened and in their original condition.

    To cancel an order customers should contact the Customer Service team on 020 8858 6011, fax details on 020 7716 3366, or email orders@davy.co.uk. It is your responsibility to keep the wines safe and in their original condition until collection is made.

    In the event of customer cancellation full refunds will only be given if we are notified at least 7 days before the date of the event. Refunds will only be given after this time if we are able to re-sell your tickets.

    In the event that a tasting is cancelled, Davy’s shall offer customers a full refund.
