Product description
Château Guiraud is one of the few properties to be located within the village of Sauternes itself (the only other being its illustrious neighbour Château Yquem). With only 100,000 bottles produced in good year, Guiraud is characterized by its balance of sweetness and zest of acidity.
A fabulous classic style Sauternes drinking absolutely wonderfully. Aromas of apricots, honey and peaches with a nutty edge. Rich on the palate and balanced by a streak of fresh acidity. A superb price for an outstanding wine.
The Guiraud 2007 has a typically unabashed, exuberant bouquet with tangerine, pear, white peach and honeysuckle. The palate is medium-bodied with a lovely viscous entry, very good weight of fruit, and a lot of botrytis; smooth and very harmonious towards the finish that would benefit from a little more clarity and dare I say, "personality". Still, a very fine Sauternes. Drink 2012-2035.
