One of the best vintage of Chateau Haut Bages Liberal. With beautiful blackcurrant fruits and notes of spice and cedar, this is a well balanced and generous wine with soft tannins.

Château Haut Bages Liberal is a 5ème Cru Classé located in Pauillac between Château Latour, Pichon Baron and Pichon Lalande. Founded by the Liberal family in the 18th century, it was bought in 1960 by the Cruse family, who also owned Château Pontet-Canet at the time and, who started to replant the vineyards. Today the estate belongs to the Taillan group, who already owned Château Chasse Spleen, and is run by Claire Villars. In recent years the wine of Château Hau-Bages Libéral have gained concentration and are deeper than before. The domaine is also on its way to be certified organic. View our selection.
The estates spreads over 30 hectares of vineyards planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. The grand vin is aged for 16 to 18 months French oak in barrels of which 50% is new.
