The grand vin is a classic St Estephe, very deep and chewy with dark fruits and earthy notes. Austere with a big structure and a dry finish. A top class chateau.

“This is a tannic, chewy Montrose with lots of spice, berry and earth character. Full body, chewy and fruity. Intense tannins. Try in 2018 when the tannins soften.”92 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, February 2014

About the producer: Château Montrose

Located in the east of St Estephe, north of Marbuzet, Château Montrose boasts of the Medoc’s best vineyard sites and is often considered to be the most reliable and longest-lived wines in the region. The parcels, all surrounding the castle, vary from a few square meters to two hectares and bring their own personality in order to produce complex wines. Since the first vine were planted in 1815, only three families owned the property before it was purchased by Martin and Olivier Bouygues in 2006, who reconstructed a spectacular 10000 m² of vineyard and built a modern cellar.
