Château Petit Village’s vineyards have been significantly replanted in recent years so only small quantities of wine are being produced at present.
Subtle nose of red and blackfruits with a hint of smoke. The palate is very juicy with cherry & chocolate flavours and soft tannins. – DWM, March 2015
French red wine from Pomerol in Bordeaux France, made with Merlot Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Located in Pomerol, Château Petit Village has been owned by AXA Millesimes since 1989, a company that also owns Château Pichon-Longueville Baron, Château Cantenac Brown and Château Suduiraut. Since the 1990s, the vineyard has been significantly replanted which means that lower quantities of Petit-Village are being produced for the time being. The winery has also been completely rebuilt, with a new vat room filled with varying sizes of concrete vats designed to vinify each small parcel separately. The wines produced are rich and voluptuous with a lot of toasty and smoky characters. View our selection.
The 10.5 hectares of vineyard are planted with 75% Merlot, 18 % Cabernet Franc and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes are vinified plot-by-plot and the wine is matured for about 15 months in oak barrels, of which 70% are new.
Château Petit Village (grand vin) and Le Jardin de Petit Village (second vin since 1996).
