This little known beauty comes from Blaye, which is just across the Gironde River from Medoc and has a rich heritage of justifiably proud winemakers, who are producing great quality wines for a fraction of the price of the more famous areas just down the road. Made by the devoted husband and wife winemaking team of Pascal and Isabelle Montaut, this is a remarkably good Claret.
Without any oak influence, Chateau Peyronat has an expressive nose of ripe raspberry and cherry fruits alongside caramel notes. The palate is medium bodied and round with a clean finish.
French still red wine from Côte de Bordeaux Bordeaux France, made with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Organic.
