Château Roc des Cambes is located on the most highly and reputed slope of the Côtes de Bordeaux, where the estuary regulates the heat from the sun, to produce ripe and concentrated fruits.
It may have reached full maturity, yet this 2000 is generous with plenty of ripe blackberries and chocolate notes.
This is the Roc de Cambes' finest effort since the 1990. Notes of black cherry jam (kirsch) soar from the glass of this expansive, full-bodied, fleshy sexpot. Deep and chewy, with plenty of chocolate, cocoa, blackberry, and cherry fruit displayed in a flamboyant style, it is a knockout, sensual wine to drink now and over the next 10-12 years. It is also a sleeper of the vintage.- 90 pts Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
