Product description
En Primeur Château Talbot Caillou Blanc de Talbot will be available for delivery or storage once it lands in the UK, usually two years following the en primeur offer.
Located in St Julien, Château Talbot is one of the largest estates in the Médoc. It takes its name from John Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury, who lost the battle of Castillon in 1453 allowing the French to take control of Bordeaux’s vineyards after 340 years of British ownership. Since the 1950s, the estate has been owned by the Cordier family and today Nancy Bignon Cordier, her husband Jean-Paul and their children oversee the estate. Eric Boissenot is the consultant wine maker, his skills producing wines of power and finesse with long the capacity for extended aging.
Georges Cordier, the grandfather of the current owners was one of the first to replant white wine in Médoc in the 1930’s. With a majority of Sauvignon Blanc, and a hint of Sémillon, Caillou Blanc is raised on its lees and stirred in a Burgundy manner. There is noticeable oak which is perfectly balanced with the freshness of the wine.
En Primeur pricing is per case as specified and excludes UK duty and VAT, which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine is released from bond for delivery. Bonded storage is available. Onward delivery or transfer is not included and can be quoted for on request. Free delivery on orders does not apply to bonded or en primeur wines.
