Eicelenci 2015 is ‘Highly Recommended’ in Decanter Magazine’s August 2017 edition receiving between 90 and 93pts.
All of the Appellation´s thirteen permitted grape varieties are represented in the vineyard of Nalys. This allow them to bring greater complexity and balance to their wine. Eicelenci is the Cuvee of excellence by Domaine de Nalys. Aged for 6 months in barrel it has fresh notes of apple, melon and honeysuckle on the nose and a lively palate with great purity and a hint of minerality, characteristic of Nalys wines. Very harmonious with a good potential for ageing.
“Blossom, honeysuckle and peach kernel on the nose; the mouthfeel is impressive. There’s lots of puppy fat to it, giving body and power. White pepper and lime are behind orchard fruit flavours on the palate. It’s a balanced and powerful wine. Drink 2017-2022.” – 90/93pts, Decanter Magazine, August 2017
“Very attractive aromas of cream, honey, Toblerone, and cut white mushroom. On the palate, too, this is an excitingly allusive, energetic wine, with lots of marrowy fullness, almondy depth, and almost truffley richness to it. An outstanding effort here, both full and structured, as well as hitting every aromatic button that white Châteauneuf-du-Pape can manage and finishing in a glorious effusion of honey and almond. Grand stuff.” – 93pts Andrew Jefford
