En Primeur Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Tradition Domaine Le Bosquet des Papes is available for sale.
The Boiron family have made wine at this domaine since 1860. They have 40 distinct parcels of vines, spread across 32 hectares. Average vine age is 50 years but the a parcel of 100 year old vines is used for the Chante Merle. Nicolas Boiron makes wines for long aging, to reach maturity at around 6-7 years. The cellar has a mixture of foudres and demi-muids.
“Full-bodied, rich and chocolaty, the super ripe 2017 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Tradition isn’t as fine and silky as the 2016, but it shows plenty of power and blueberry and cherry fruit. It will be interesting to see how it emerges at the end of its élevage, as top-notch raw materials are present.”
