    Product description

    This is the second wine of Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe, a top Châteauneuf producer. Their winery sits on the site of a former telegraph station which is where the name derives from and is famous for producing wine with a highly distinctive minerality sourced from vineyards planted on the Plateau de ‘La Crau’.

    Aromas of plum fruits, spices and a touch of leather and herbal note. Full bodied with ripe tannins and a great length.

    About the producer: Domaine Vieux Télégraphe

    Domaine Vieux Télégraphe has been in the Brunier family for 5 generations and is one of the largest and best known estate in the Southern Rhone. The winery sits on the site of a former telegraph station which is where the name derives from. The estate’s vineyards are planted on the Plateau de ‘La Crau’, famous for producing wine with a highly distinctive minerality.  Since the early 1980s, Frédéric and Daniel have been in charge of the estate and are focused on achieving optimum ripeness in order to produce wines that are complex and elegant. In 1998 they also created the winery Massaya in Lebanon. View our selection.

    Vineyards and Winemaking

    The estate spreads over 242 acres in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape area and 37 acres in Vaucluse and Ventoux and, is planted with an average of 60 years old vines. Their top Cuvée is aged for 20 to 22 months in 60hl oak barrels and requires no filtration.

    Five Châteauneuf-du-Pape: Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe (red and white), Télégramme (red), Piedlong (red), Clos la Roquète (white), some Gigondas ‘Les Pallières’ (rosé and red), as well as Le Pigeoulet (red and white) in Vaucluse and Mégaphone (red) in Ventoux.

    Returns

    SALE OR RETURN is available by prior arrangement only and for orders of 96 bottles or more. All returns are at the customer’s expense. Returns must be made within 28 days of original delivery and goods must be in a resalable condition. We reserve the right to only refund up to 25% of the original order. For further details please contact customer services 020 8858 6011.

    CANCELLATIONS can be made within seven working days from receipt of delivery, provided that all wines are unopened and in their original condition. To cancel an order customers should contact the Customer Service team on 020 8858 6011 or email orders@davy.co.uk. It is your responsibility to keep the wines safe and in their original condition until collection is made.

    TASTING CANCELLATIONS – full refunds can only be made where at least 7 days’ notice is given prior to the event date. Refunds will only be given after this time if we are able to re-sell your tickets. In the event that a tasting is cancelled, Davy’s shall offer customers a full refund.
