The Mazzei family owns 117 hectares of vine, divided in 120 parcels all harvested by hand. Grapes are vinified and matured separately in order to  add complexity to the wines.

  • About the producer

    About the producer: Mazzei Family

The Mazzei Family started producing wine at Castello di Fonterutoli in 1435. The estate is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico appellation in Tuscany and has remained in the same family for 24 generations. In 1997 they acquired Belguardo Estate in Maremma, and in 2003 Zisola, in Sicily. Their aim is to promote local vine varieties that express their terroir in respect of diversity and nature, via sustainable agriculture. After modernising their winery in recent years they can now vinify each parcel in order to produce series of small scale wine batches. View our selection
