    Product description

Brothers Bertrand and Vincent Marchesseau have rigorous approach the vineyard and minimal intervention in the winemaking process. Their wines are a true reflection of the terroir and are all certified organic.

Ampoule, meaning light bulb, is sourced from sandy soil, atypical for Chinon. Expressive nose of candied red and black fruits with notes of liquorice. On the palate the fruits are well balanced with round tannins. A brilliant summer wine!

  • About the producer

About the producer: Domaine Bertrand and Vincent Marchesseau

Brothers Bertrand and Vincent Marchesseau, third generation of winemakers, took over the family property in 2001. Today they own vineyards in Bourgueil (14 ha), Chinon (5 ha) and St Nicolas de Bourgueil (3 ha), all certified organic since 2011. Bertrand is dedicated to the vineyards and winemaking while Vincent is in charge of the maturation and trade. A rigorous approach in the vineyard (analysis of the soil, grassing, thinning, leaf stripping…) and minimal yet precise intervention in the winemaking process (maceration only at the start of the fermentation and micro bullage at the end) means their wines are a true reflection of the terroir.
