Product description
You would expect something quite serious from a joint venture between Bruno Prats of Chateau Cos d’Estournel and the Symington family. Chryseia is produced from the finest quality grapes from their two Upper Douro Valley vineyards, Quinta de Roriz and Quinta da Perdiz. Another property, Quinta da Vila Velha, which is privately owned by a member of the Symington family, also contributed some of its best grapes, as it has for every vintage of Chryseia. The 2011 was voted third best wine of the world by Wine Spectator in 2014.
The nose yields dark plum, black cherries and toastiness. Silky and ripe palate with assertive tannins, mineral notes and great length.
“This is a juicy, rich red that shows balance and intensity. Full body, velvety tannins and a flavorful finish of dried fruit, mushroom and dark chocolate. Drink or hold.” – 93pts James Suckling, 2016
Portuguese red wine from Douro Portugal, made with Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca.
