Product description
Owned by the same family for 13 generations, Chateau du Moulin Rouge is a small but perfectly formed Cru Bourgeois estate which lies in between Margaux and St Julien. 18 hectares are planted with 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, vines are on average 40 years old. Everything is worked by hand and the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak before release, with only around 8,500 cases made. Generous ripe black and red berry fruits alongside spice and oak. Intense palate with good concentration of fruits and elegant tannins. This drinks beautifully now but could be cellared for 10-15 years from vintage.
