With sweet raspberry and cassis fruit, guarrigue, licorice and toast aromas this is an exuberant and velvety Cote Rotie with soft tannin, that drinks well at the moment .
French still red wine from North Rhone Valley France, made with Syrah and Viognier.
Patrick and Christophe took over the family owned vineyard in 1990 from their father Charles Bonnefond. Charles used to sell grapes on but his sons started bottling their own wine in 1997 after a period of growing the estate to just under 7ha. They use a high proportion of new oak but the wines are concentrated enough to balance this. These are masculine wines using a minimal (2-3%) use of Viognier which age very well.
