    Product description

Sacha Lichine purchased Château d’Esclans with the aim to use new and innovative winemaking techniques to produce a richer and more fruit forward style of rosé wine. A few years later Whispering Angel, the world most popular rosé, was born. Each vintage has always received great reviews from critics.

Made from a blend of free run and pressed juice. Subtle and delicate flavours of red currant and citrus alongside herbal notes and aniseed. Medium bodied with good concentration of ripe fruits and a crisp acidity.

  • About the producer

    About the producer: Caves d’Esclans

In the heart of the Provence AOC near St Tropez, Caves d’Esclans sources its grapes from Château d’Esclans as well as local growers to make what has reputedly become one of the world’s greatest rosé. Originally known as Terre d’Esclans, the Château has been sold to various family until it was finally acquired by Sacha Lichine in 2006. Originally from a Margaux winemaking family at previous owners of Château Prieuré Lichine, Sacha felt that Rosé had strong potential to become a more serious wine. The estate is known for its rosé sourced from old Grenache vines (up to 90 years old) producing greater concentration of fruits flavours.

    Vineyards

The 44 hectares of vines are mainly planted with Grenache, Rolle (Vermentino) and some Cinsault, Merlot, Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Tibouren.

    Wines produced

Whispering Angel, Rock Angel, Les Clans, Garrus, The Palm, Déesse Diane (Red) Déesse Astrée (White)
