Sacha Lichine purchased Château d’Esclans with the aim to use new and innovative winemaking techniques to produce a richer and more fruit forward style of rosé wine. A few years later Whispering Angel, the world most popular rosé, was born. Each vintage has always received great reviews from critics.
Made from a blend of free run and pressed juice. Subtle and delicate flavours of red currant and citrus alongside herbal notes and aniseed. Medium bodied with good concentration of ripe fruits and a crisp acidity.
Pale rose color with pretty aromas of lavender, rosehip, strawberries, cherries and cloves. It’s medium-bodied with crisp acidity and a supple, creamy palate. Perfumed and elegant. Drink now.- 92 pts James Suckling
Tremendous wine… In 2021 there is a wonderful backbone to this wine from which the fruit is carefully draped. With the trademark watermelon and pomegranate hints and a deeper and more structured mid-palate than was found on the 2020, this is a more sophisticated wine than its crowd-pleasing predecessor.- Matthew Jukes
