Product description
A fruity and spicy wine with great structure to perfectly accompany wild boar, especially when roasted with fragrant spices. Domaine les Hauts Cances is a small family estate, well known for producing excellent wines from old vines with very low yields. This is a hidden gem and superb value. The estate mainly produces wines under the Cairanne AOC, a Côtes du Rhône Villages that recently gained its ‘cru’ status joining acclaimed areas such as Châteauneuf du Pape, Gigondas and Vacqueyras.
This stunning wine is produced from 50 year old vines, making it much more complex and memorable than your average Côtes du Rhône. The grapes are fermented in old oak barrels from Burgundy and benefit from a touch of bottle aging. This wine has a traditional style with deep cherry and blackcurrant fruits alongside savoury, spicy and earthy notes. Soft, with round tannins and a long lingering finish making it perfect with grilled meats and hog roast -particularly the gamey flavours of wild boar.
