    Product description

A family Domaine, owned and managed by Olivier Bernard, the last thirty years have been of constant reinvestment in all aspects of the Chateau, vineyards and Cellars with profound success. The whites made here often compared in quality to Grand Cru Burgundy, are also known for their ageing potential yet also delicious whilst young displaying abundant flavours of peaches, apricots and lychees, with citrus notes guaranteeing freshness.

Made with Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, this is a very pure, linear wine which should age splendidly for decades, gaining in flesh and volume. That being said, it’s impeccably balanced and can be enjoyed in its early years too.

About the producer: Domaine de Chevalier

A family Domaine, owned and managed by Olivier Bernard, the last thirty years have been of constant reinvestment in all aspects of the Chateau, vineyards and Cellars with profound success. The reds typically boast structure and finesse, often displaying sumptuous red fruits, liquorice, nuts and spice combined with complexity and wonderful ageing potential. The whites, often compared in quality to Grand Cru Burgundy, are also known for their ageing potential yet also delicious whilst young, displaying abundant flavours of peaches, apricots and lychees, with citrus notes guaranteeing freshness.

Domaine de Chevalier covers a hundred hectares, 45 of which are under vine on ideal gravelly soils typical for the region of Pessac Leognan, formerly known as the ‘Graves’, just south east of the City of Bordeaux . 40 hectares are devoted to red wine split 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. 5 are planted with white varieties split 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon. The vineyard management revolves around sustainable practices and today 30 hectares of the vines are farmed biodynamically.
