In 2009, Dow’s 2007 was awarded a perfect 100 Points by Wine Spectator and still is the only Port produced in the 21st Century with 100 Points.
Intense nose of plums, raisins and cloves. Big and velvety with a good acidity, tannic structure and a long finish.
Deep garnet colour. The nose is just beginning to evolve into musky, dried plum and raisin aromas with whiffs of tree bark, nutmeg, cumin and cloves. The palate is seriously big and voluptuous with medium to high acidity and a medium to firm level of fine tannins. Very long finish- 97 pts Lisa Perrotti-Brown, RobertParker.com
