On Wednesday 17th September, join us at Vintners Yard in Greenwich for a fantastic Malbec tasting. The evening will be hosted by Ricardo Arrambide, Commercial Manager at Durigutti Family Winemakers. Following on from the tasting, you’ll enjoy an informal Barbeque partnered with Durigutti wines.
Durigutti Family Winemakers was founded in 2002 by brothers Héctor and Pablo. It is situated in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, known as the birthplace of Argentinian Malbec. Their winemaking philosophy is to produce wines that reflect the terroir and the identity of each vineyard, using organic, minimal intervention and sustainable practices. Their wines are nothing short of brilliant and receive regular praise (and impressive scores) from highly regarded critics.
Argentina’s Durigutti is a recent addition to the Davy’s portfolio, with a range of stunning wines that we’re proud to stock exclusively to UK customers. Already favourites with the team, we were pleased (but not surprised!) to see the excellence of Durigutti’s Pie de Monte Finca Las Jarillas recognised at the Decanter World Wine Awards.
“… something remarkable is coming to light here.”
97 Points, Decanter World Wine Awards
The evening will begin with a sparkling aperitif to awaken the tastebuds before you taste through six Durigutti Malbecs. Amongst them are the outstanding Pie de Monte bottlings – a range of single vineyard wines offering some of the purest expressions of Mendoza Malbec. The judges at Decanter were wowed by Finca Zarlenga, awarding it 93 points, and Finca Las Jarillas, a massive 97-points along with a Best in Show award.
Ricardo will talk us through the winery’s history and the different techniques used, including the organic and sustainable practices that allow Durigutti to consistently create some of Argentina’s best wines. Ricardo and members of our team will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Expect an informal and fun evening that’s a must for any Malbec fan!
