En Primeur Aligoté Paul Pillot 2017 is not currently available to purchase.
With 13 hectares in Chassagne and St Aubin, Thierry Pillot makes sublime wines from Aligoté to 1er Cru Chassagne Montrachet. He and his sister Chrystelle (married to Alexandre Bachelet) are both charming and tasting with Thierry it’s easy to imagine his bright, lively personality carrying though into the wines. Minimum oak intervention and respect for the terroir, you are looking at sheer elegance throughout, minerality being the favoured expression.
“If there’s a reason Aligoté is still not viewed as a serious wine, I’m not sure what it is. From the best producers, this is undeniably one of the sweetest spots in the world of wine. Given the same care and attention as their Chardonnay, Pillot’s Aligoté is brilliantly pure, crisp with a spicy mineral character. This is simply fantastic and at under £10 per bottle, probably the best value you’re going to see in 2017.” Davy’s Wine Merchants, November 2018.
Offered for sale ‘En Primeur’, in bond. Price shown is per case (12x75cl bottles) and excludes UK duty and VAT which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine lands in the UK.
