2018 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros ‘Côte Bouguerots’ William Fevre En Primeur will be available to purchase on Monday 6th January 2020.
William Fèvre made his first vintage in 1959, and subsequently his name as one of Chablis’ greats over the following three decades. The man himself retired in 1988, when the Domaine was purchased by Champagne Joseph Henriot. In the last couple of decades there has been a move to the use of older oak barrels and a more subtle, integrated élevage. The Domaine consists of 12 hectares of premier cru and an enormous 16 hectares of grand crus vineyards.
“Bougros sits on a very steep slope, with a gradient of more than 30%, facing due south at the foot of the hill. The shallow soil, a mixture of clay and gravel, prevents excessive yields resulting in complex, robust wines. Complex and mineral bouquet, powerful and dense structure with pleasant roundness.”
