Product description
2019 Château de Pez, Saint-Estèphe is now released
Château de Pez, is a Cru Bourgeois located in Saint-Estèphe and is the most ancient Bordeaux vineyards alongside Calon Ségur. Created in the 15th century, it enjoys ideal exposures on the hilltops and has been carefully renovated after it was acquired by Louis Roederer in 1995. The wine is usually rich and dense and merits prolonged ageing.
Dense, rich red with a solid core of ripe fruit and ripe tannins. Hints of hazelnuts and chocolate. It’s full-bodied with a creamy texture. – 93-94 Points, James Suckling
Owned by Pichon Comtesse, this is a lovely St Estèphe with polish and poise. Good depth to the berry fruits, with an appealing unfussy confidence. New cellars this year that allows for more precise reflection of the plots in 1% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Drinking Window 2024 – 2040 – 93 Points, Jane Anson, Decanter Magazine
