En Primeur Chateau du Glana 2016 is now available to purchase
Château Du Glana is located between the towns of Beychevelle and Saint-Julien, opposite the famous Château Ducru-Beaucaillou. After several other owners, Mr Gabriel Meffre bought the estate in 1961 and increased the vineyard by acquiring several plots from third growth Château Lagrange. He also consulted wine guru Denis Dubourdieu to create a well-balanced, velvety, and complex wine enjoyable young, but also with excellent ageing potential.
“Owned by brothers Ludovic and Julien Meffre, this wine is a deep purple colour with extremely aromatic juice, delivering the triumvirate of what you want in a primeur wine – fruit, freshness and genuine astringency on the tannins. The black cherry and cassis fruit is inevitably held back a little at this stage, but there is potential for bedding down during ageing, making this a very promising wine. Good St-Julien classicism on display here. 56% Cabernet Sauvignon and 44% Merlot with 12 months in 40% new oak. … A wine to watch… “ Drink: 2027-2050 – Decanter Magazine, April 2017
Offered for sale ‘En Primeur’, in bond. Price shown is per case (12x75cl bottles) and excludes UK duty and VAT which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine lands in the UK.
