En Primeur Chateau Gloria 2016 is now available for sale
Chateau Gloria is a relatively new estate in Saint Julien. It was founded in 1942 by Henri Martin, who comes from a winemaker family. He purchased 6 hectares of vines on the advice of his friend, Jean-Charles Cazes, father of Jean Michel Cazes of Chateau Lynch Bages. Today the estate covers 48 hectares and has seen a complete renovation of the winemaking facilities. Chateau Gloria is a popular Bordeaux wine appreciated for its early drinkability, charming character and fair prices.
“… This is a little more backward and broody compared to the Saint-Pierre and indeed its Saint Julien peers, demanding more coaxing from the glass. It almost reluctantly unfolds and unveils subtle pencil box and dry tobacco aromas. The palate is more outgoing than the aromatics with a vibrant, almost citrus-fresh opening, tensile tannins and a satisfying sense of energy. This feels nimble and agile in the mouth with a touch of white pepper lingering on the aftertaste. You come away with the feeling that this Gloria has something up its sleeve for those with patience to cellar it for eight to ten years.” – 93-95 pts Wine Advocate, April 2017
Offered for sale ‘En Primeur’, in bond. Price shown is per case (12x75cl bottles) and excludes UK duty and VAT which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine lands in the UK.
