Product description
En Primeur Château Grand Mayne will be available for delivery or storage once it lands in the UK, usually two years following the en primeur offer.
Château Grand Mayne sits at the heart of the Saint- Émilion appellation on Bordeaux’s Right Bank. The 17-hectare vineyard has remained unchanged for roughly 300 years. Brothers Jean-Antoine and Damien Nony are the third generation of their family at the helm here. Their late father, Jean-Pierre, sadly passed away in 2001, aged just 55. The most prized part of the vineyard is a slope of limestone over clay which Jean-Pierre referred to as his ‘Romanée-Conti ‘due to its resemblance to a Burgundian Grand Cru.
Over time the approximately 40% plantings of Cabernet Franc were reduced to 10-15%. When Jean-Antoine took over in 2012, he initiated a replanting programme which is due to be completed in 2035. The estate has been a Grand Cru Classé since 1955.
Blend 80% Merlot/20% Cabernet Franc. 18 months in oak barrels 70% new.
En Primeur pricing is per case as specified and excludes UK duty and VAT, which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine is released from bond for delivery. Bonded storage is available. Onward delivery or transfer is not included and can be quoted for on request. Free delivery on orders over £100 does not apply to bonded or en primeur wines.
