En Primeur Château L’Eglise Clinet will be available for delivery or storage once it lands in the UK, usually two years following the en primeur offer.
The château is named after an ancient Roman church of which little now remains. Denis Durantou was the man who made L’Eglise Clinet a top-class wine. Although Denis sadly passed away in 2020, he restored the estate to greatness and the day-to-day running is now in the hands of his wife and daughters. L’Eglise Clinet was once part of a larger estate which comprised Château Clinet and Clos L’Eglise but the vines were split off in the 1950s and Denis Durantou took charge in 1983. His first steps were to improve vine quality and the equipment in the winery and he very quickly reduced yields and purchased new oak barrels and a new pressing machine. In 1986 he introduced the second wine, Petite Eglise. With vines averaging 40 years old, the estate is planted with 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc on a combination of gravel and clay soils. The property gained cult status and worldwide acclaim following a perfect 100 point score for the 2005 vintage from Robert Parker.
En Primeur pricing is per case as specified and excludes UK duty and VAT, which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine is released from bond for delivery. Bonded storage is available. Onward delivery or transfer is not included and can be quoted for on request. Free delivery on orders over £100 does not apply to bonded or en primeur wines.
