Product description
En Primeur Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion will be available for delivery or storage once it lands in the UK, usually two years following the en primeur offer.
The lesser-known neighbour of châteaux Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion in the Pessac-Léognan region of Bordeaux, Les Carmes Haut-Brion is a jewel of a property, positioned on the same bank of gravel as its more famous namesakes. Château les Carmes Haut-Brion is the only Bordeaux chateau to be actually in Bordeaux, at the unique address of 20, Rue des Carmes.
The vineyards are planted with an unusually small quantity of Cabernet Sauvignon (10%), the lion’s share going to Merlot (50%) and Cabernet Franc (40%), this is reflected in the style of the wine which is rich in aromatics and has incredible finesse. The vines are an average of 42 years old and are planted with a density of 10,000 per hectare. The wine spends 18 months in oak barrels, one-third of which are new each vintage.
En Primeur pricing is per case as specified and excludes UK duty and VAT, which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine is released from bond for delivery. Bonded storage is available. Onward delivery or transfer is not included and can be quoted for on request. Free delivery on orders over £100 does not apply to bonded or en primeur wines.
