Product description
En Primeur Clos Fourtet will be available for delivery or storage once it lands in the UK, usually two years following the en primeur offer.
Clos Fourtet occupies a single plot of 20 hectares of walled vineyard (Clos) planted high up on the western slopes of St Emilion. The walls and beautiful Chateau are carved from the very rock it stands upon. Perfectly challenging terroir for vines and resulting wines classified since 1956 as St Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classe. Purchased in 2001 by the Cuvelier family and now under the direction of Mathieu Cuvelier, investment and innovation are the bywords for constant improvements at all levels. Farmed using a mixture of organic and bio-dynamic methods on vineyards made up of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is aged (vintage dependant) in 60-80% new oak barrels for 18 months. Over the last decade this has become a wine not to be missed as the quality and critics scores have moved constantly upward, whilst prices have remained very fair on the cost/quality ratio.
En Primeur pricing is per case as specified and excludes UK duty and VAT, which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine is released from bond for delivery. Bonded storage is available. Onward delivery or transfer is not included and can be quoted for on request. Free delivery on orders over £100 does not apply to bonded or en primeur wines.
