Finca Sophenia Synthesis The Blend 2014

Located in Tupungato, Mendoza, one of the highest regions in Argentina, Finca Sophenia is recognised as one of the top wineries in Argentina. The estate was founded by Roberto Luka in 1997 and is named after his daughters, Sophia and Eugenia. Synthesis’ range is sourced for the best vineyards of the Finca.

Aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 18 months and another 9 months in bottle before release. Intense aromas of ripe red and black fruits with spicy and mineral notes and hints of black pepper, eucalyptus and tobacco. Deep and concentrated on the palate with mature and voluminous tannins. A great example of premium New World wine.

Finca Sophenia is located by the Andes in Tupungato, Mendoza, one of the highest regions in Argentina. Wines from Tupungato typically impart floral aromas, in particular violets, with long sunny days and very cool nights combining to give perfect conditions for the vine. Vineyard & Winemaking

The 130 hectares of vines are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Bonarda, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Torrontes. The winery is equipped with the latest French technology related to the reception, crushing, pressing and vinification processes. Most reds are aged in oak barrels.

Wines Produced

Mostly single varietals are produced under three different labels: Finca Sophenia, Alto Sur meaning ‘High in the south’ and ES Vino.
