Product description
This beautiful white Bordeaux is from renowned Sauternes producer Château Guiraud – one of the few properties to be located within the village of Sauternes. Guiraud was classified as Premiere Grand Crus Classé in 1855 and is a traditional estate planted with Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Château Guiraud make world-class sweet Sauternes wines including this magnificent dry, crisp white Bordeaux blend simply named ‘G de Guiraud’. For such a traditional estate they are surprisingly innovative, being the first producer to receive certificates for their environmentally friendly, organic approach to vineyard management and conservation. The 2017 vintage is fresh and crisp with an abundance of gooseberries, honey and lime blossom on the nose. This is followed by a mineral and citrus driven palate with melon and fresh peaches, ending in a lengthy, thirst quenching, dry finish. This wine is a classic pairing with the fresh and creamy texture of trout. It is also available in magnums, ideal for larger groups after a long day on the river.
