Product description
Based in Chigny-les-Roses in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, Gardet owns several hectares of Premier Cru vineyards with the rest of their requirements being bought in from growers with whom they have formed long and close relationships. They produce great value Champagne.
Made with 45% Pinot Noir, 45% Meunier and 10% Chardonnay. Fresh citrus fruit aromas alongside notes of honeysuckle. Creamy texture on the palate well balanced with a refreshing acidity.
Apples and fresh chollah aromas. Tightly beaded upfront but the bubbles unravel into loose laciness as the wine spreads out across the mouth. Ripe, golden apples and pears beginning and middle – wisps of smokiness and hazelnuts are quickly lost in the folds of sweet fruit (is the dosage relatively high here?). Quite rich citrus, lemon cheesecake, although the structure of the wine does come through on the finish. A good wine for scallops Meuniere.
