    Product description

The search for excellence remains the goal of the oldest wine house in Champagne. Micro vinifications and long bottle ageing are both used to produce complex and elegant sparkling wine.

Made only using grapes from Premier and Grand Cru villages, Brut Excellence is an exceptionally good quality Champagne which far outperforms its price tag. Intense nose of fresh floral honeysuckle and white jasmine followed by exotic pineapple and mango flavours. Very delicate and fresh, it is lighter than the majority of Gosset’s range and, is ideal Champagne to serve as an aperitif. Received 92 pts Wine Spectator, December 2012

  • About the producer

    About the producer: Champagne Gosset

Pierre Gosset was Mayor of Ay when, in 1584, he founded his Wine House. Only still wine were made at the time with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape, known as Vin D’Ay. The Sparkling wine production only started in the 18th Century and was presented in the antique flask still used for the production of Champagne Gosset today.

The site is still located in Ay, although they have now a grander establishment in Epernay as well. View our range.

    Their Philosophy

They attach great importance to the specific character of each individual terroir and, using their long standing contacts, they blend together the best crus from forty five Grand and Premier Cru villages to great effect. They believe in the old ways, not only is the fruit all harvested by hand, but the ‘remuage’ (turning of the bottles) is all done by hand as well.  The results speak for themselves.

    Wine Produced

    Excellence
    Grande Reserve
    Grand Rosé
    Blanc de Blanc
    Grand Millesime
    Célébris
Gosset 15 Ans, a modern ‘Non Vintage masterpiece’ made of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir and aged 15 years in bottle.
