Our Winemaker and Producer Tastings & Suppers are an opportunity to spend time with some of the world’s most exciting winemakers and producers, experiencing the wines with their expert guidance. You’ll be amazed at how much a winemaker’s personality can be expressed through their wines, and by the passion they bring to making them. We are pleased to welcome , Guillaume Bousquet of the fantastic Domaine Bousquet winery in Mendoza for an evening of fantastic wine and food.
The Bousquet family, now in its 4th generation relocated to the foothills of the Andes from the South of France in 1997. Their aim was to bring together the traditional French winemaking practices along with the ideal agricultural conditions Mendoza had to offer. Based in Tupungato, their 110-hectare vineyard is at an altitude of 1200m. Along with being one of the highest vineyards in the world, the unique cool nights and constant breeze as well as very low rainfall, allows the production of ripe and well nurtured grapes producing quality wines. Domaine Bousquet is now the most awarded organic winery the world.
After a welcome glass of Chardonnay Reserve Guillaume will talk us through the history of the winery and winemaking in Mendoza and what makes the wines so special. We’ll then taste some of the estate’s finest red wines, including the famous Ameri which scored a remarkable 93 points from the Wine Enthusiast. Ameri is made from the best grapes on the estate and at 4,125 feet, the highest grapes too. The tasting is followed by a specially prepared 3-course menu, with a wine paired with each course and Guillaume on hand to answer any questions.
Please note, seating may be at communal tables, menus sometimes include sharing dishes. Tasting & talk from 6.30-7.30pm followed by supper. We aim to wrap up the evening by 9.15pm.
