Product description
Ferraton Père et Fils is a small family-owned business that operates independently with added help from long-time friend Michel Chapoutier. Certified organic since 1998, they vinify each parcel separately in order to show the diversity of the terroir.
‘Les Dionnieres’ is located on the eastern edge of the appellation and is known for its old vines. Complex and rich with aromas of ripe black cherries, black currants, raspberry alongside mineral, smoky and earthy flavours. Full-bodied with sweet tannins well balanced with the acidity.
Smoked earth, blueberries, blackberries, graphite and huge minerality all emerge from the 2015 Ermitage Les Dionnières, which comes from older vines planted on the eastern/lower section of Hermitage, in more sedimentary soils. It saw a touch stems and 20% new oak. Full-bodied, concentrated, stacked and packed, with sweet, building tannin, forget bottles for 4-6 years and enjoy over the following two+ decades.
