Hermitage ‘Les Miaux’ 2015, Domaine Ferraton Père & Fils

Ferraton Père et Fils is a small family-owned business that operates independently but under the Chapoutier expertise and finance. Certified organic since 1998, they vinify their parcels separately in order to show the diversity of the terroir.

Complex aromas of blueberry, licorice and violet with dusty minerals notes. Full bodied and chewy on the palate with intense flavours of ripe blackberry fruits and hints of spice.

“Notes of powdered rocks, graphite, caramelized meats and both cassis and black raspberry emerge from the 2015 Hermitage Les Miaux. This rich, low-acid, chewy, downright decadent Hermitage is another huge success from this estate. It’s going to need a few years of bottle age, yet I suspect the sweetness of fruit will allow it to drink nicely relatively early in its life.” – 93/95pts Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, December 2016

French still red wine from South Rhone Valley France, made with Syrah.

About the producer: Domaine Ferraton & fils

Continuing the work of his father Frédéric Reverdy, Jean Orens Ferraton created his own vineyard in 1946 in the Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage appellations.  In 1998, vineyards were converted into organic farming, and selected parcels were vinified separately in order to show the diversity of the terroir. They are now moving to biodynamic culture. Today, Ferraton Père et Fils is a small family-owned business that operates independently but under the Chapoutier expertise and finance.
