In Bond case of “La Loma”, Miguel Merino 2015.
Miguel Merino runs one of the smallest, youngest and most exciting wineries in Rioja. La Loma is a small vineyard of 1.5 hectares that was planted 70 years ago on poor soils, making the roots go very deep in order to produce fresh, subtle and elegant wines.
“The full mocha and leather character smothers anything else there might be in this bold Rioja. Serious tannins and just enough fruit to balance them. A powerful, but slightly austere finish. Drink or hold. 92 points.” James Suckling, August 2018.
