    Date: Thursday 3rd December 2020
Venue: Online Virtual Tasting – Zoom
    Time: 7.30pm to 8.30pm
Tickets: £55 (includes one bottle each of both wines for tasting)

    Tasting wines:
    1 x 75cl bottle x 2018 Prince de George 7, Fronsac’
    1 x 75cl bottle x 2018 Ch. George 7, Fronsac

Davy’s are proud to strengthen their Bordeaux portfolio with the addition of boutique, Fronsac producer, Château George 7, a brand-new Château located in the over-performing and undervalued appellation of Fronsac.  Estate owner, Sally Evans, lived and worked in France for 25 years before following her dream in 2015 and buying a dilapidated property and empty winery in Fronsac. She created Château George 7 in 2017 and there is now a newly equipped winery at the heart of the estate with a superb tasting facility overlooking the vines.

We are pleased to invite you to a live online tasting alongside estate owner Sally Evans, co- hosted by Master of Wine Martin Everett on Thursday 3rd December, 7.30pm to 8.30pm. From the comfort of your home, Sally will lead us through the excellent 2018 vintage for both wines, while Martin will help us to find out more about the differences between each wine and ask Sally to expand on what it’s like to set up and run a winery from scratch. Sally’s emphasis on food and wine matching, apparent on the back labels of George 7, will also come up as she talks recipes and which foods can be cooked at home to match these terrific 2018s.

The Château comprises three hectares of 35-year-old Merlot vines on clay over limestone in the village of Saillans – a village which is recognized as having some of the best terroir in Fronsac. Experts guiding the estate are Bruno Lacoste, who started his career with Michel Rolland, and Anthony Appollot. Both also consult for several very well-known left and right bank Châteaux.

The 2018 vintage has already received critical acclaim featuring in the Bordeaux Hot 50 wines in May 2020 and scoring 94 points in the Decanter World Wine Awards 2020.  Both Château George 7 and Prince de George 7 are now in the UK and available to order.

“Château George 7 is an exciting addition to our portfolio and was one of the most popular wines in our 2018 Bordeaux En Primeur Campaign – we are thrilled to represent the wines in the UK.”
    James Davy, 5th Generation Chairman
