Product description
Louis Roederer is one of the few great Champagne houses still in family ownership. With 240ha of vines in Grand and 1er cru, they produce 75% of their own fruit, a key quality control in champagne.
Collection is a multi-vintage with a proportion of oak-aged reserve wine blend with the ‘perpetual reserve’. Every year, the perpetual reserve is enriched with wines from the latest harvest so the final wine acquires more breadth, depth, substance and complexity. The first collection ever released is No. 242, named after the 242nd blend since the house was founded. The blend used for the perpetual reserved were from 2012 to 2017. Every year the most recent vintage will be added increasing the No. of the collection.
Ripe citrus, crisp green apple, and subtle pear notes, with delicate hints of toasted brioche and almond. Its fine bubbles lead to a creamy texture on the palate, balanced by vibrant acidity. The finish is long and elegant, with a lingering minerality.
