Product description
Miguel Merino created his own winery in a restored farmhouse where he built a small vinification plant and barrel-ageing cellar. He started to buy grapes grown on small plots near Briones to produce well-made, modern wines and now owns and runs one of the smallest, youngest and most prestigious wineries in Spain.
Mazuelo de la Quinta Cruz is jointly created by Miguel Merino and the Swedish Wine Maker Lars Torstenson and is only produced in special vintages, when the grapes reach optimum maturity. Aged for 10 months in French and American oak barrels. Aromas of ripe dark and red fruit alongside spices. Intense palate full of sweet fruits and earthy flavours. Powerful with a good tannic structure and a complex finish.
