Isabelle Mangeart owns 8 hectares of vines nestled on hills near Montpellier. Certified organic since 2013, organic compost and no chemicals are used. Her wines are elegant and full of character, some sourced from very old vines.
Made with 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache and aged for 18 months in used oak barrels. Complex and elegant nose with notes of chocolate, blackberry, and pepper. Full-bodied on the palate with soft tannins and a mineral finish. Only 1500 bottles produced.
Another absolutely stunning wine from Isabelle Mongeart. Pure very ripe blueberry, plum and black cherry. Polished, rounded, with very plush tannins, lots of fine toasted oak from 18 months ageing in barrel. Silky palate, concentrated, quite New World style but garrigue and mineral finish plants it firmly in the Languedoc.- 94 pts Languedoc-Roussillon Special Report Tim Atkin
