About the producer: Pio Cesare
Pio Cesare was founded in 1881 by Cesare Pio who was one of the first people to realise and believe in the quality of Piedmont’s wine, particularly in Barolo. Today Pio Boffa, the fourth generation, leads and directs the company following the philosophy of his ancestors, with minimal intervention in the vineyard, low yielding and obsessive selection of grapes. Owning some of the best vineyard in Alba, including in Serralunga and Monforte, Pio Cesare is known for blending the different characteristics of each plot in order to produce premium wines that represent the styles of each appellation as a whole.
