About the producer: Pierre Morey
The Morey’s arrived in Meursault, Burgundy, in 1793 where they soon acquired vines located in the best areas of the appellation: Perrières, Genevrières, and Charmes. Pierre Morey, now in charge of the estate, and his daughter Anne, can justly claim to know the culture of the region inside out. What’s their secret? Well, they have some wonderful vineyards, but this estate has been organic since 1992 and in 1997 they became fully biodynamic so they work with nature rather than against it. After that, it is little more than an unswerving determination to make the best wine they can by combining traditional methods with modern techniques. Pierre Morey was a leading wine maker at Domaine Leflaive in Puligny Montrachet. His wines are organic and always have the tightest of structures. View our selection.
Pierre Morey Estate
Today the domaine covers 10 hectares distributed in different parcels located in the wine villages of Monthelie, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet, and of course Meursault. Pierre Morey likes to mature his wine for many months, 12 to 20, depending on the cru and the vintage, in order to create a subtle balance between finesse, elegance, purity and harmony.
Created in 1992, the objective is to complete the range of wines offered by the Domaine Pierre Morey. For each of the chosen appellations, fruit and musts are purchased from excellent vine growers under rigorous growing terms and conditions. The winemaking is done in their winery and take the Morey’s style.
