    Product description

Burgundy is arguably the most prestigious dry white wine producing region on the planet. Just think of the Grand Crus of Chablis from the north, and meander south through Meursault to the villages of Puligny and Chassagne. Puligny-Montrachet is a commune in the Côte-d’Or in the middle of the Côte de Beaune, containing the most distinguished vineyard in the world, Le Montrachet. This is the land of fine Chardonnay, famous for its fantastic minerality and acidity, balancing broad creamy texture and layers of refined flavours from the soil, old vines and fine oak casks. Burgundy experienced an unusual historical inheritance system in which the inherited estates were divided into equal portions between siblings. This resulted in many small producers owning just a couple of rows of vines in some of the famous Premier and Grand Crus. This expression of wine is another excellent example with considerable ageing potential. It is fantastic to drink immediately, or it can be cellared and enjoyed for years to come.
